Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) as well as Chris Watson (born in Paris). As a young girl of just five when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled at an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. Emma was only six when she realized she wanted to be an actor. She was trained for many years in Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford in which she learned acting as well as singing. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film is 2001's top production, and it broke records at the opening and the very first weekend. Reviewers praised the film, and especially the young performers. The Daily Telegraph, a widely read British paper, praised her for her outstanding performance. Emma received the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in an Film. Film. She was later recognized five times in recognition of her performance in the movie.
